Who are these "boys" who will answer. If you want people to call that
number at that time, you should at least tell them who they are calling.

Why would you answer so cryptically instead of just telling me who they
are?

Wow, you're clever.
You read and post in the newsgroup,
but you keep posting asking about O&A and who they are.
Real tricky.

Nobody ever says anything about THEM. There's the occasional mention
of the phrase "O&A" or "Ope & Anthony", but nothing ever even hinting
at who they actually are.

So I ask again - who the hell ARE these guys? Are they even real, or
just fictional figureheads?

Yep... I am so scared to waste my time calling a show that didn't get
any ratings on FM and now has a few thousand listeners on XM.

Even pretendling like Stern fans are at war with O&A fans is like a

Oh yeah, I really wannabe an O&A pest. Do I get an O&A army jacket
and a secret decoder ring if I become a pest? Do I get to pretend I'm
a teenager when I'm a 45 year old man just like Opie and Anthony do?
Do i get to sacrifice every little bit of dignity I have just to
promote a radio show to people who think it's the worst piece of crap
in radio history?

Gotta fill that dead air somehow, and I'm sure that they realize how
boring their show is, hearing the same band of lickspittles calling in
every day to fawn and polish their knobs. But why would anyone bother
hanging on the phone waiting to talk to two wannabes?

Oh, right -- that's what they encourage their fans to do to more popular
shows, and their fans are dumb enough to do it! This whole series of
posts about the "war" and the "pests" is just pathetic. One guy said
that the pests are willing to hang on the phone for hours and are used
to being hung up on immediately. It would be great to have that kind of
leisure time, I guess, though I suspect their "leisure time" is what I
would call "unemployment."

They considered it a triumph to get their calls through to some
afternoon DJ Howard put on to fill time when he's not around. Like that
is any kind of test of their capability to get calls through. It's not
like a guest DJ has the screeners to keep these kinds of calls out, or
the delay to dump them, or the fanbase to compete for the phone lines.
It's like knocking off a convenience store and claiming that next
they're going to break into Fort Knox. Howard has $500 million to set
up his channels. He's perfectly capable of preventing you from getting
on the air with enough screeners and enough delay.

There was a whole series of posts about how Howard "censors" his show to
prevent the pests from getting through on the air. Now, the reason it
is called the "Howard Stern Show" is because what goes out over the air
is determined by Howard. Censorship is when someone other than the
on-air personalities determine the content. I'm listening to the stern
show to hear howard -- why would I care if he dumps some moron who wants
to plug some second rate competitor's show?

The whole "war" is just a sad publicity stunt that Dopie and Notfunny
have cooked up (in a pretty direct ripoff of Howard's old routines) to
get noticed. Every post and every call from O&A and their handful of
faithful fans to Howard is an acknowledgement of who is really the top
dog in satellite radio. It's really got to bring these guys down to see
that XM is hitting the skids since Howard came on board at Sirius --
Maybe they'll be filling the overnight slot on Howard's station next year.

Actually one did the other day. He said Babba Booey
a bunch of times, and the boys left him on the air
and just talked over him. Pathetic attempt.
If Hoo Hoo would leave the pests on the line and
not dump the calls we would see who is the better
radio host. O&A can deal with hecklers, Howie
cannot, his ego is too fragile.

Wow, you really have no idea what you are talking about. That is ok,
I will bring you up to speed a little bit. Opie and Anthony take
dozens upon dozens of calls a day. These calls are almost always from
new callers, quite a few of them saying that they are new listeners
and new fans. Howie, on the other hand, maybe takes a dozen calls
a show, most of which are from "Wack Baggers" or "Friends of the Show"

Ok, well maybe while O&A were on XM and Howie was on FM Howie had
the more popular show.... because it was free. At this point in
time, O&A have MORE LISTENERS than old Howie. Suck it up, that
is a fact. XM 202, second most listened to channel on a satellite
radio service with twice the subscribers. Do the math, not Howard
Math, but real math. Try to use some logic.

1. Evening DJ
2. All the Calls
3. DJ Auditioning for a job
4. Plenty of Sirius employed screeners
5. Plenty of Delay to dump the calls
6. If Howie has so many loyal listeners on Sirius why couldn't he
get them to support his new jock?
7. No he is not.

Sure Howie can censor his show, or he can have the balls to deal with
his detractors, like O&A.

No publicity stunt, but the logical culmination of years of rage from
being gagged by Howie on Infinity radio.
XM hitting the skids? I guess everything Howie says is true. Fool.
The Sirius numbers for last quarter were just as bad as the XM
numbers. Do some research before flapping your uneducated lips.
Look at the price of Sirius stock since Howie came on. Dropping...
drooping... sagging... crash!
Soon you will be getting Faxes at work about Sirius being the next
great penny stock.
