Re: why would XM add station WLW in Cincinnati as
their new Channel 173 ?

" Gary Burbank " does the afternoon drive show (3-6 pm
EST] on WLW, and he makes the addition worthwhile by
himself.

I don't live in that part of the USA, but I did hear a syndica-
ted program he did for a while in the mid-1990s ... it was one
of the best, and funniest radio programs I have heard.

The best analogy I can use is that if Johnny Carson were
doing radio today (as he once did] he would sound a lot
like Gary Burbank.

In fact, Gary credits his show to a mythical "Broadbank
Burbcasting Company", which combined with his on-air
name Burbank, appears to be a direct tribute to Johnny
Carson.

The humor is more relaxed, and gentle. If you like that kind
of thing as a change-of-pace, you might give him a listen.

[ I'd be writing the same thing here if WLW had joined
Sirius. Talent is talent.]

How many hours each day will Gary be on air via XM? 24 hours?

Gary Burbank is on for Three hours, 3 to 6 pm EST.

They employ other local talent, but I'm not familiar with
them.

Burbank, however, is a good acquisition for XM. If you
have access to XM, you should give him a listen.
