I just found out that DN wants to charge $300 for a HD dvr receiver. Is there another way to buy one cheaper and will it work by just "plugging it in" ?

Nope. Usually that particular equipment is much more expensive if purchased. Through DTV it's 499.99 I believe... Very high...

i bought a 622 hd dvr receiver from them, and the picure blacks out. They are aware of the problem, but have no time frame for it to be fixed. very frustrating. whenever there is a lot of data it will lose the signal for about 5 seconds, so you can forget about seeing replays or trying to watch a NASCAR race. It has been going on for about 3 weeks now.

So you might want to wait before signing up with them.
