Odd. The word ''metal''appears nowhere on either panic PR.

They do say they have 40 more channels than Sirius. They leave out the
part that many of those are temporary use channels or traffic/weather.
Sounds like splitting ----hairs to me.

Last time I actually counted out actual channels that have continuous
content there were pretty much the same number of channels between the
two.

No metal is a damn shame, course it was in the first place when they
ditched it too.. Someone on your link said the same thing. :)

Yeah. The 165 channels XM claims are never all on at the same time.
If they were, every channel would sound like a duck, instead of just
some of them.

I think XM is really doing a dis-service here.

First off, they are stating that WSM on Sirius is a music channel and
that it carries commercials. WSM is a news and entertainment channel.
Funny how XM states that Sirius has 68 music channels then adds WSM
into the mix (which would make it 69). The old having the cake and
eating it too thing....LOL

As for the assertion about 160 plus channels......another laughable
assertion. the claim boils down to haow they count traffic and play by
play channels.

XM really ought to rethink this policy of how they count channels.

Doberman

There is no reason XM shouldn't promote the fact that it has more channels
than Sirius does. If Sirius had more, they'd certainly be doing the same.

Frontmed.....

Be realistic.

Do you really feel that 29 play by play channels that do not run
programming on most days should be marketed as channels????? Sirius
could do the same thing, but so far has taken a "higher road".

What XM is doing is basically misleading the consumer. And doing it to
the tune of over 20%.

Now they have stooped to misleading the retailers by insinuating that
Sirius has commercials on a music channel. The channel (WSM) is not a
music channel, but is a news and entertainment channel.

I think once you get past a certain number it's meaningless. I have
no idea how many channels I have on my TV. It's a ----load plus one.

Dobie, please. Don't be disingenuous.

WSM is, and always has been, a music channel. Why does Sirius not call it
one? Because it has commercials. Same thing XM is doing with CCU.

Is this a music channel?

"Home of the Grand Ole Opry".

WSM is the home of the Grand Ole Opry and the station that has brought
country music to America since 1925. WSM's lineup includes not only the
greatest songs country music has to offer, but some of the most well-known
and influential air personalities as well.

You'll hear Hairl Hensley, Keith Bilbrey, Bill Cody, and Eddie Stubbs -
Legendary country music personalities who intimately know and appreciate the
music and artists they present. It's a combination you can't beat!
