View Full Version : FCC says it OK to call someone a "----head"

Kind of reminds me of Frontmed.

The commission did not propose a fine for an episode of "NYPD Blue" because
the use of the word "----" and "----head" in the show did not rise to the
level of ------ and its variants because the FCC said the "terms '----' and
'----head,' in this context, while understandably offensive to some viewers,
are not sufficiently vulgar, explicit or graphic descriptions of ---ual
organs or activities to support a finding of patent offensiveness.

I'm pretty sure they've said ------- on there several times too over
the seasons.. That didn't seem to be an issue either since it was after
10pm.

Frontmed hasn't had significant posts involving you for well more than a
year now. Why would you continue these childish assaults? Not that I care,
but geez, for a grownup, retired even, I'd think you might have SOMETHING
else in your life.

Frontmed:

Being close to the high tension wires seems to have made you refer to
yourself in the third person. You might want to consult a doctor about
that.

I have to laugh at that. In the past I had occasion to work with a few
soviets
At that time it was offensive to call them russian. Our crew had a
outspoken crew foreman and the interpeter kept saying "there is no word like
"-------" in the russian language. Our foreman used the term "-------" in a
colloquial manner. Perhaps our outspoken friend FM should relocate to
russia?

I don't deny being the same person, but I have fucking idea about the wires?
We do have electricity, but I'm assuming you do, too?

Sure we have electricity here but I don't have high tension wires
anywhere near or over my house.

---
"Some studies suggest that children living in close proximity to high
tension wires may have twice the risk of developing leukemia, brain
cancer or autism as other children. "

Again, you might want to see a doctor. This would definitely explain a
lot about you.

Well good for you, I guess???

Weird. I guess you've installed one too many subwoofers or something. I
would ask you to make sense of your post, but honestly, I just don't give a
damn WTF you're talking about. Forget it.

The problem is you're too retarded from living around high tension
wires. The radiation has ruined your brain.

Thank for proving it.

that's because he's a cop killer

Since the news media loves taking comments out of context, I am going
to
return the favor.

You gotta love this anchor to reporter toss as seen on WSLS Sunday,
July 30,
6pm a couple years ago.

news anchor: "... Newschannel Ten's Dawn Jefferies spent some time at a
local hotel this morning."

now there's some indecency before 10 pm

(referring to Roanoke's flash flooding that flooded the Ramada Inn)

map of the world, linking Britain to all the places coloured pink:
Australia and India and Canada and islands dotted everywhere. He thinks
of blood bubbling though these tubes and emerging in Sydney, Bombay,
the St. Lawrence Waterway. Bloodlines, that is a word he has heard
somewhere. With the pulse of blood in his ears, he begins to fall
asleep again."--arthur and george, julian barnes

NYPD Blue is on at 10pm too, or it used to be when I watched it
regularly, I assume it still is.

For some reason it's not ok now for them.

I
guess now I'll go ahead & re-watch it -- tho on one of the cable basic
channels.

I don't remember hearing that on that show.
i do think you guys should investigate the history of precode hollywood
when discussing this stuff.
A movie I've caught lately is called "Call Her Savage" with Clara Bow
from
1932. This movie is
from 1932, stars Clara Bow as "the daughter of a white & native
american
who marries a man who leaves her with a child and penniless" (of course
that judgment falls on HER, dammit, but it's how she handles it that's
the kick). I think you would find it interesting on many accounts.
First,
the main character is fiesty-as-all-hell, like women weren't allowed to
be in movies for 30 years after 1934's enforced censorship. (gotta
recommend a book, too, "Complicated Women: --- & Power in Pre-Code
Hollywood," by Mick LaSalle, all about women in film before the
"hollywood production code" laid down the censorship laws...about what
women could wear, say, do or BE. There's one fun scene where this wild
girl is out riding a horse, the horse throws her because it sees a
rattlesnake; she gets up & whips that rattlesnake till it runs away,
then
a young man comes along & starts laughing at her. She pulls that man
down
off his horse, and goes to whipping him good. Some on-lookers ask, "why
were you beating him?" She says, "just practicing for when I get
married."
