I live in an apartment complex and am not allowed to attach a satellite dish to the building, put it on the roof, or place it in a planter outside my unit. Basically the owner thinks they look ugly. Anyway, I have a screened in porch in the back, so I'm thinking that I could put the dish on a pole in a planter and just put it on the back porch. The problem is that an installer said the signal won't travel through the screen (it's metal). I would be willing to (on the sly) change the screen if I could get a signal through another type of material. Does anyone know if a signal will travel through another type of screen and if so which types? Thanks.
