I am getting ready to buy an HDTV and was wondering if I get the recommended new dish for HDTV, should I use my old receiver? When I buy the new dish don't they now require you to sign up for subscription DTV at the time of purchase? How should I handle this?

To receive HDTV your must have a HDTV sat receiver AND a new oval dish. The oval dish allows you to run up to 4 receivers all on different channels with any mix of new and old receivers.

Okay, I'll get the new dish and receiver for HDTV. At the time of purchase do they require you to sign up for the subscription? Should I sign up and then cancel after my H card is programmed?

Depending on where you buy your system.. some retailers require a programming commitment.. must don't..

Some will take your name.. address.. phone number and set you up as pending.. so to make sure they get commission when you activate your system..

But you don't have..
