Got the Sportster R a couple of weeks ago, with car docking station. Also purchased the Boombox, which worked for exactly one day, then refused to detect the antenna: "Antenna Not Detected" was all I could get.
Several calls with Sirius Tech support later, took the boombox back to Best Buy for exchange, where I was told that that particular store had had a problem such as mine with "a whole shipment" of Boomboxes. Customer service recommended that I have the replacement Boom box checked out by the car audio installers before driving all the way home. Sure enough, "Antenna Not Detected" was all that would display.
Left Best Buy with a credit and a grudge, but want the Sirius for NFL games and other programming.
Went to Ciruit City today to get the Executive Desktop Docking Station and same result: "Antenna Not Detected." Sirius Customer Svc doesn't work Sundays any more, just FYI.
Think it's the radio itself. Can't be two boom boxes, my car docking station and the Exec Desk Top units that are all defective, can it?

Its possible that a factory defect could affect a whole lot, yes.

Well let me tell ya: I have had my Sportster Replay unit since last December but at the end of July, I got that same error message: "Antenna Not Detected" so I called NUMEROUS time to Sirius Warranty and after about 2 hours of wating on hold, someone finally answered. They said they would send me out a replacement radio with antenna and docking station and I could return the defective part. I could actually choose what to send back. However that has been a couple months now and I STILL do not have a replacement radio. The 800 number you call, everyone there is ready to sell you another radio or update your service but as soon as you have a problem the OTHER number you have to call, the customer service really really sucks. Both time I have contacted the warranty department I had to wait AT LEAST 1-1/2 hours! Just ridiculous. Anyone out there have XM radio and is it any better?? I am thinking of switching just because of the customer service. Thanks. Bill
