I have a few questions about satellite radio that maybe some of you can
shed some light on for me. I am definitly interested in getting into
satellite radio liostening however I am somewhat confused about how to
go about it.

What confuses me is that when I looked for a simple, table top plug and
play unity a few months ago I had trouble finding one. Most of the
units I saw needed something else along with it so you can listen. I
saw some radios that presumably I could just plug in and listen but
actually you needed to purchase an additional boombox like speaker
set-up.

Can someone reccomed a table top type satellite radio that I can just
take from the box, just like a normal AM-FM unit, and simply plug in
and listen? Or..... if you can't get what I'm describing here can you
use some type of adapter like the ones that turn your car radio into a
satellite receiver.

Thanks in advance

Leesa (I)

>While Sirius and XM have table-top units, why not just buy a receiver and home-docking station and connect it to your stereo? Then with a car connection you can just carry the receiver to your car. If you are not interested in the car aspect you could get away cheaply, roughly $120-150.

The SkyFi2 boombox $99 + SkFi2 receiver sounds great.
Also the Belkin (white) boombox with XT receiver sounds even better.

I have both of these radios. Once you plug in the receivers, you have a
standalone radio.
You must be able to see the southern sky for XM antenna. This is not a
problem usually.
You do need to buy the BB and the receiver separately. No biggy. $150
total.

But there are too many to pick from ...... that's the problem - see link.
