View Full Version : Does the Opie and Anthony show on XM have any commercials?

There are plenty of so called commercial breaks, but the only thing
that I ever hear are XM promos for major league baseball or world cup
soccer, and some odd news/infotainment type segments. I only hear the
show on the DirecTV audio channels and there doesn't seem to be any
actual commercials on that feed of the show. Is it different on the
actual XM radio broadcast?

I'm not asking about what airs on CBS terrestrial stations which is
filled with actual commercials, or about what airs on XM during the CBS
commercials which I know is supposed to be non-commercial filler
material, but I'm asking about the "commercial breaks" on the 2
hour XM only segment that begins at 9am.

Nobody can answer this? Surely *somebody* is listening to Opie and
Anthony on XM and knows.

Nope, nobody can listen to that garbage long enough to determine if
there are commercials of not.

If you want to gauge the popularity of O&A versus Howard, go to Google
Newsgroups, and compare the number of subscribers to each main group devoted
to each of the participants. The number for the O&A group was 76 whole
subscribers. Howard was thousands.

Yes there are commercials. Just like any other talk station.

Pardon me if I don't just take the word of a guy named "--------", but
then why are all of the "commercials" heard on the DirecTV feed just
promos for other XM programs? It's the same on the internet stream too.

If there really are commercials on the XM show, can someone name the
commercials that they play in one of the breaks today during the 9-11
o'clock hours.

Does that really matter?

Hearing the same old commercials for 20 minutes out of the hour, or
hearing the same old tired promos for 20 minutes out of the hour. Or
even the same old rehashed "best of" bits. It all destroys the flow
of a show.

O&A are further watered down by all the commercial breaks, as if being
on FCC airwaves was not enough to do that.

Commercials are much more preferable to the amateur promos XM inflicts
upon the listener.

If you were an O&A fan then you would know the term --------. Anyway, ESPN,
XM Comedy, CNN, etc. all have commercials. I couldn't tell about the
DirecTV feeds as I don't have DTV.

I have a job so I can't listen to O&A between 9 - 11 am. Have you heard of
Bodog.net? Its ad is played all the time. I usually change the channel
during commercials so I can't quote exactly which one's are played.

So go f--- yourself, --------!!!
