Whats the approximate range of the fm transmitter inside of the $50 Xact
Sirius receiver? Anyone know?

I believe it is at most 3 meters.

Ahh,much better than the 3 feet I heard it was. Good,I can put it in the
back of the SUV then.

The big issue is if you drive into an area that occupies a lot of the
frequencies out there. I couldn't find a clear frequency that worked
entirely between here and Boston. I installed the antenna switchbox
(which will probably reach to the back of your SUV too, it has a pretty
long cord) and didn't have that problem anymore.
The FM modulator didn't sound so great so I switched to the cassette
adapter. One of these days I'll just replace the head unit with
something with an Aux Input.
