Are there any customers qualifying for DNS services anymore? I thought I'd been granfathered in for L.A. and N.Y. nets, but now only receive L.A.? How can I get them back? I don't want locals, I was happy with DNS! !
Note, I have no HD, just SD.

why don't you have NY? I don't have directv anymore cuz I was an idiot, i let my account go too long without paying it an they turned it off, when I went to turn it back on they would not allow me my NY/LA feeds anymore. So I said fuq yew an told em I wouldn't be a sub anymore. I still have my LA, Chicago & Atlanta feeds thru dish network, but I miss NY as well.
Here is what I know about the rules. In order to be eligible you must live in an area that has absolutly no reception from any broadcast station for hundreds of miles (like maybe the eastern side of Oregon? does anyone live there beside mtn lion?). The only exception to this rule would be RV owners, who can petition for DNS. Everyone else, unless you allready had them, is SOL. The old rules allowed folks in 'grade b' areas to get DNS but the new laws that went into effect a yr ago or so, thru that rule out the window.
If *I* were you, I would defintly call an complain. They can't turn off a service your paying for without good reason. I know there are some circumstances where they are forced to turn off DNS for some folks, but you said you still had LA? So this makes no sense to me UNLESS they have moved NY to a 'spotbeam' now, and your 'out of range'. If thats the case, I would still complain, an demand they give you another city to substitute for it.
