Hi there, new at this.

Maybe someone has encountered this problem as well.

I have my main account with DIRECTV in FL and receive all the ORLANDO

Networks and Local channels as part of my package.

I installed a 3 lnb dish in our second home in Vermont and all 3 satellites

are working great, I get all the channels EXCEPT the local channels that I

get in FL....while in VT, my bill is still going to our FL home.

When I tune into the Local Channel, i.e. 2.... I get a blue screen, telling me:

"Searching for satellite signal (771) "

Also, can someone explain SPOT BEAM to me??

Thanks

Mike

the spot beam is why you are not getting your locals in fl.
spot beams are just what they say ... spot ... they transmit to a certain spot ... yours being the city that the billing is in ...

Your 'out of range' of the spotbeam. Think of a spotbeam like a flashlight that shines on central florida and may be touching a lil bit of Georgia. A circular beam thats aiming at the deep south. Perhaps if you moved to Georgia you'd still be able to see them, but clearly Vermont is too far north. I'm afraid your SOL.
