Howard Stern and Opie & Anthony get a lot of talk on here, but what
about the other shows that are somewhat related? I'm talking about Bubba
on SIRIUS and Ron & Fez on XM.
Anyone bother listening to these shows?
I listen to both, but I much prefer Ron & Fez over any other talk show
out there. To me, no show is funnier. Bubba, I could live without. I can
listen in small doses, but if he left SIRIUS, I probably wouldn't miss
him. Ron & Fez on the other hand, I'll follow them wherever they can be
heard.

Bubba is a radio professional. He has a radio voice. I don't like
listening to hypernasal amatuers.

I don't know about Ron & Fez because I don't have XM, but I listen to
Bubba on occasion. I think I might appreciate the show more if I was a
Southerner. There is a lot of talk on that show about Nascar and
wrestling that I don't care about. There are some funny bits though.
Ned's hysterical. Usually I end up listening to reruns of Howard or Jim
Breuer's show.
Now, Ferrall, that's another story. No other sports show comes close. I
have been trying out different talk shows since Howard's on another
frickin' vacation and I happened upon ESPN Radio's "The Herd" or
something like that. It was a morning show. Now, they had some guy
replacing the usual guy so maybe I was listening on a sub-par day, but
damn was that some tedious listening! The host was talking about how he
prefers preseason football because he gets too nervous about how his
team does in the regular season. He was talking about how he rewatches
the games 3-4 times and analyzes particular players. That's fine if
you're a professional sports broadcaster, but the annoying thing was
that he'd constantly be saying things like "You know how it is" and
"We're so into football" as if the listeners did this also. That's
extremely obsessive behavior. Who the fuck takes football so seriously
that they get depressed if their team loses? OK, I'm done venting now.
My point is that Ferrall's show kills anything I've heard so far on ESPN
radio. I got pretty sidetracked there.

So, "Radio Voice" is what separates the men from the boys?
I always thought ANYONE could have "radio voice" if they tried a little.
No?

You've obviously never heard the Indy car racing promos on XM.
