They can lose the other TV soundtrack channels while they're at it.

That's one I'm glad to see get the axe. A total waste.

Amen. TV on radio generally makes for horrible listening. The only TV
simulcast that works is C-Span, because its programming is all talk with
little compelling visual content.

That's not what you used to say because it was not on Sirius. MSNBC
was a key differentiator you used to say. You are getting very
desperate.

Whatever happened to those local talk stations XM was supposed to add?

I didn't even realize MSNBC had a channel. Don't watch them, I wouldn't
listen to them. There is some sort of "local" type show on 165 around 6:30
in the morning. I've never listened to much of it but they keep giving the
station call sign.

These were channels programmed by Clear Channel and Clear Channel decided
not to do them.

They haven't said what they're going to do instead yet....

Clear Channel pulled the plug on the project as too expensive. It apparently
wasn't going to be talk at all, just a rotating series of brief, constantly
updated newscasts from various regions supplied by Clear Channel stations in
those regions, with commercials of course. Not a horrible idea -- probably
better than listening to local-yokel talk hosts gabbing about local-yokel
issues -- but I guess CC couldn't see any profit potential in it.

Right now, the bandwidth still belongs to CC, but channels 134-139 remain
idle.
