Emmis drops country on L.A.'s KZLA to bring in Rick Dees and rhythmic
AC "Movin'."
That's already provoking anger among L.A.'s country fans - but Emmis
is tired of being below a 2.0-share and it wants a bigger piece of the
diverse Los Angeles market. Rick Dees was once king of SoCal morning
radio until his long run on Clear Channel's KIIS-FM ended almost
exactly two years ago. Since then he's been concentrating on his radio
syndication efforts(but did he once come very close to a deal with
another major L.A. player?). Emmis promises to continue streaming
country KZLA and making it available on its HD2 channel.
