Yeah, When the treble is turned up I get distortion. Crackles or whatever and only when Serius is on, AM and FM are fine along with a CD.

COnnection issue or just a bad reciver? I'm not sure if anyone will know really but.... Once I turn the treble to -1 to -5 it goes away but once I turn the treble up is when I have the problem.

I'm not an audio engineer and I don't play one on TV, but my guess is that by increasing the treble, you may be amplifying shortcomings in Sirius' audio signal. Is the distortion eqivalent across all channels or is it worse on some. I've heard the bandwidth allocations differ from channel to channel in that talk channels are broadcast with more compression than are music channels.

Also, how does your car stereo connect to your Sirius receiver? The wireless FM signal is the most prone to interference. Connecting via a wired FM modulator will remove most RF interference, and a direct connection via your car stereo's "aux input" jack is even better since it removes RF from the equation entirely.

There is also a possibility that you're getting feedback through your car's electrical system. That can be a real pain to trace out and eliminate.
