:gg Hello:

I am new here and hoping someone can help me with installation. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I have a FTA system and recently tried to switch from G13 to Telestar 5. I got 70% strength but only up to 40% quality no matter how I adjust the dish Elevation and Azimuth (manually as I do not have any tool). I got the channels I want, but the picture quality I got was poor because there are lots of horizontal lines cross the TV screen.

Can anyone tell me what is the problem? Anything to do with LNBF (should I try to fine adjust LNBF)?

The system was originally professionally installed to G13 satellite and everything was ok. Later it started to show lots of horizontal lines cross the TV screen. Now when I tried to switch to Telestar 5, the phenomenon remains.

If I understand this correct, some channels up there are HD channels if you don't have a T.V. that is HD you will get that problem.

first ... how do you have the recv hooked to the tv... rf channel 3 or 4 ...or a/v .....

being that you have lines i would think rf.... you might try grounding recv to tv or just to gnd ...

In your post you said you never get more than 40% signal.....this may be caused by 2 things .....1.) dish size or 2.) signal obstructions, such as buildings or more likely trees. The solution is to install a larger dish and possibly change the location of your dish. I had the same problem after i installed a dish at a friends house....a tree was in the way of Nimiq1(BEV), and i could not get more than 30 to 40% signal. Hope this will help!
