Well this is purely B.S. but this is what I heard.............I do some business on the side which I quit last week because my customers were getting pissed about all the downtime, anyways the local Rshack here is also programming cards and one of the guys that works there came into the store where I was at and began to run his mouth about how their cards haven't been down in three months and that it really didn't matter anyways because on October 10th 2000 the H-card datastream was going to be shut off. Well he didn't know that I did cards and I sure as hell didn't tell him, can't ever tell if people will turn you in, but just thought I would share this tidbit of info with you, seeing as how he works for Rshack and all...

Probably a good practice.A sting got started at a federal prison in a small town in AZ all because a gaurd asked another gaurd if he wanted to purchase a programmed h.It was estimated that the Gaurd that got busted sold 100-200 cards for 400.00-500.00 a piece.(I hope he got allong with the inmates REALLY well)Oh'well.odie*#*

Cellular..."shrugs" :)...That's funny....
Honest to god, I can name at least half a dozen DTV dealers in my area that program cards..There is even a BestBuy here that has a guy.......
As far as the ECM by 10 Oct, I'm with you, would kinda be surprised if it took that long.......

Just out of curiosity, how long does it generally take to fix an ecmed card. I have an un-looper, do you just clean it or do you have to wait for a script?

The last place you will get good info or advise is your local Radio Shack. Their motto ' You got questions ? We got shrugs.' is very true in almost all cases.

A Rat shack that programs cards. Can't believe DTV puts up with that crap.
But, on the bright side, you got your post in the right forum. :)

I'm surprised to learn that a Rat Shack managed to hire somebody with the capability! ;)

Well, yes but he WAS openly bragging about it in the store....can't be the brightest LED in the blister pack! :)

And as far as the big bad ECM, I say Oct. 6 just like last year!

Some threads do make us look less bad than others, though; for example, the Backyard Rasslin' thread. Now there is a thread for the ages.
