Why would dave kill his subscribed customers h cards. If these bins are used by others there is a good chance that the guy who owns it is using it as a test card but is paying to keep it subscribed(and running). Now if I was this guy and dave shut me down and offered a shiny new hu card i would tell him to piss off(What good is a subbed hu card to this guy at this time?)Then I would get my hands on another bin and keep watching t.v.Then when all h cards are shut down subscribe to whatever or move on.

A client of mine recently moved. He installed his dual LNB system in his new house and called DTV to have his his two receiver system re-activated. He didn't know he didn't need to do that. DTV told him he needed new cards; they wouldn't re-activate the old cards, and furthermore, they wouldn't send him the new cards until they got the old ones back! After a week of no TV, I suggested he cancel and get DISH. He did.

Sad but true, he sent the H cards back before I got to him. If you want H-cards, if you live in a community that has large "ethnic" sub-communities, poke around. DTV cancelled ethnic programming. These people simply went out and got DISH. I've picked up lots of H-cards recently. Find out who's a new DISH subscriber who looks and dresses funny and speaks either very good or very crummy English. Turbans are a good sign.

I feel that if people would threaten to jump on the dish network bandwagon at the least bit of hassle from Dave then perhaps he will slack up bit. If that guy would have said:

*Hey Dave, I’ve been a paying for your service for x amount of time now, if you don't cut my freaken satellite on right now!
Then you can forget it, the blanken thing will stay off for good. Dish network has been offering some good deals. I think I will take them up on their offer and try their services for a while. What's it going to be Dave? *

It might not affect them one bit, but then again it might work too. I think Dish network is giving them a run for their money right now. In my area *S.E. US* it seems.
Dave is in business to make money, not to spend it. Dave needs to worry more about activating new subscribers and keeping the current ones he has. If you think about it they are only so many H cards out here in this big old world. There will be no more. I'm sure the H card supply is depleted a little everyday from things like accidental destruction *cockpit error*, physical destruction *wear & tear*, Dave swap outs, etc. The exploitation of the H cards multiple security flaws has got to be embarrassing for him. Seems to me the less publication about this the better for his corporate image. If you think about it he has probably spent a mountain of money and wasted the resources of countless employees trying to counter the H cards security flaws. Money and resources that I'm sure could have been better utilized in trying to obtain new subscribers and making sure his current subscribers keep subscribing! What a loser!

I must agree.....DTV could make a killing if they were to allow current H card holders to subscribe with their existing cards instead of offering to exchange with an HU. I would do the $20/mo thing.
