Yes you can and it works great. Along time ago I was a dish customer who realized that for me life was alot less stressful over at DirecTv, so I switched to DirecTv but I left my Dish 500 on the roof and about a year ago I was up in Canada visiting a buddy who has bell he offered to add a receiver to his account for me. Off we went to the local Best Buy where I purchased a model 9200, my buddy activated it and when I got home I repointed my Dish 500 and it worked fine. So now I enjoy the best of both worlds thanks to the Dish 500. Now that being said you will still need to buy a Bell receiver if you haven't already done so. Even though Dish makes all the equipment you still need a Bell receiver but the Dish 500 dish will work just fine
