I currently have DTV with local Baltimore stations. I have a 3LNB Round dish. I don't live in Baltimore, but I "moved" there in order to get the "locals" that I need. I just bought an HD TV and quickly realized that the area cable company's HD offerings suck.
DTV offered to install a multi-sat dish along with HD receiver for free. I know that I will be unable to use a multi-sat dish because of trees (I'm luck to be able to get DTV at all).
OK. Here's the question:
If I were to buy just the HD receiver would I be able to get the non-local HD channels? I think that I only need a multi-sat dish to get the local HD channels off the satellite. Is this correct.
