I'm trying to use 2 lines comming from my starchoice dish (quad lnb with a built in multi) to a multiswitch within the house. The SD channels all work on all the recievers. On the 505 A some of the HD channels don't work. I'm using a 3x4 switch (eagle aspen). Can anyone recommend a solution for this?

I don't know if this will help or not, but I was told by the StarChoice installer that each HD receiver requires a seperate cable from the LNB. Apparently the multiswitches don't work with HD signals.

I've learnt from experience that some installers aren't the sharpest tools in the shed. IE: one installer installed a dish for me on a balcony and threaded the mast into the metal frame of the balcony using a bolt rather then a metal screw. Needless to say 3 weeks later it dropped 10 floors.

Well, my installers seemed to know what they were doing. I'm pretty sure they would've taken the easy way and just used the multiswitch that was already installed if that was a viable alternative, rather than running a whole new length of cable. After all, StarChoice was paying for it.

there are ways to approach this:

first--go to channel 260

if you see teletoon in french you either need to do a multiswitch reset:
unplug all recievers in house; wait for 1 minute and plug back in. this resets the multi switch reciever and try hd channels again.

if you have a green light but still no programming or you see teletoon again; you need to call starchoice and get another lnb put in bc that one is defective----not properly picking up f2 signal in orbit.

if you see a red light on all your hd channels, your dish is not aligned to both
sat signal---suggest realigning dish on channel 284 or 260. or just call starchoice to get an installer out to help you realign the dish.

if you only have two rec's and using a quad lnb you don't specifically need a multi switch bc the lnb does the job, you only need a ms if you have more than 4 recievers or you have a dual lnb instead of quad.

hope this helps

oh

and you need a 4x8 or 5x8 multi switch eagle aspen.
a 3x4 won't work---thats for a dual lnb.
because you need all 4 lines connected to the multi switch coming in from the lnb thus those for signals can then split into however many outputs you have at the bottom.
