 I have a StarChoice DSR530 HD PVR that works great most of the time. Reception on the HD channels is usually excellent, but every once in a while pixellation, picture freezes and audio drop-outs will happen, sometimes lasting for hours, and just as quickly go away. The new National Geographic HD channel (276) and PBS HD (288) seem particularly prone to this. I've just had everything installed, so I know the cables, etc., are good. Signal strength on both tuners fluctuates between 78 and 82. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Do a receiver reset.Press power button on receiver for 10 sec.,then just let it reset.Weather conditions this time of year may affect reception.

hi

if our reciever is freezing up the quickest way to resolve the issue is by doing a front panel reset which means you hold down the power button on the rec for 10 secs; let go; wait til the lights quit flashing; power up the rec; lights will flash second time and when thats over your picture will return. however you must stay on a channel for 30 mins for the guide to load.

ways you can help prevent freezing frames:
surge protector
turn off rec at night
slow down on the commands on remote control eg. guide scrolling, changing
channels.

hope this helps
