I have 2 5100 PVRs. One has been unplugged and inactive for 2 years. Now I've moved and I want both running again. When I call expressview support, they tell me I need to return it with $599 to have it upgraded. Apparently if you miss a new software download then it won't download the one after. Is this true?? Anyone know a work-around?
$599 for a software upgrade is a rip-off! Makes switching to Rogers an easy decision if I can't get it upgraded.
Thanks

Hi;
Try this. Go into your system config of the PVR and select transponder 13. Save and shut down your system. If everything works like oil the PVR will turn itself on and upgrade the software on it's own. Hope this works for you.
