I live in an extremely corrupt country where you get bad service everywhere.
I recently purchased a Directtv system for $750 that's the price they make you pay on this island and I got an old receiver that has been used in the U.S before.
They charged me $750 for this old receiver but they don't give any kind of warranty here.
They made me sign a contract for 1 year so I can't cancel my service anymore but the receiver is old and the remote doesn't work.
I went to the island's only Directtv supplier and they told me I have no warranty on that but they can sell me another remote for $350.
I told them no because that's to much money for a remote that is old and that I don't know if it will work.
I tried to find an universal remote but they don't make any kind of remote that works with this receiver.
Since it's an old receiver I thought I would ask if somebody has one that they don't use anymore that has a working remote for it.
If you have it I can wire you the money and you can send me it I will pay you for all the shipping charges.
PLease let me know.
It's a receiver made by Thomson electronics in the years 1996-1997 and the model number is DXD 619-RE.
Please let me know if you have a remote for this kind of receiver.
It's the worst receiver I ever saw!
It holds only 90 minutes of program guide and the picture quality is very poor.

Thomson may have been the manufacturer but they did it 'under the arm of': RCA. So try RCA codes w/ the universal remote. Check out this info here: http://archive.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=123622
