I'm an American living in Mexico. I understand StarChoice is really the only alternative for receiving English language HD down here (with a reasonable sized antenna). I've figured out how to buy the equipment (DSR505A and 75 cm dish) but what I haven't figured out is how to activate with StarChoice. I don't have a Canadian address I can use. Does anyone know either a service which provides a "phantom" Canadian address for signing up and registering or some other way? I'm not trying to steal service; I'm happy to pay the monthly charge. Just need help figuring out how to do it.
Thanks.

In order to sign up for StarChoice, you really do need a Canadian address. Not having one is illegal toward the CRTC. I really wouldn't advice you to do it - if you get caught, you'll get a fine that's quite high.

Hi Garbanzo and AngeLys,
I am a canadian and live in Mexico and I would also like to get my Canadian/North American TV. How do I get the equipment and get started? Garbanzo, you said you had figured out how to get the equipment, mind to share what you have figured out? I do have a canadian address. Where abouts in mexico do you live Garbanzo? I am in the playa del carmen/riviera maya region.
Thanks for you help!!

And what are the CRTC's power in Mexico?
Just curious.
