Am new to the site...
I live in B.C. Canada, I want to buy a Sirius Radio, which is the best model for car and home (do not need the hand held version). AlsoI want to subscribe to the U.S. version of Programming not the Cdn Version. I do not have a U.S. address! Is there a generic address one can use so as to get the U.S. programming?
Cdn programming incl to much French and left wing talk for me!
Any response appreciated
Thx

Why would you want to subscribe to the US version? I am new to Sirius and have the Canadian version which includes just about every possible version of US choices I can imagine, including US Public Radio.

The cdn version excludes a lot of the talk channels and political ones.
Sorry, the only way to do it is to get a radio in the US, cdn ones cant be activated with us service and to have a us address. You can us a friend or relative or anyone, as long as its a valid us address

I'm told that there's a significant cost savings for lifetime subscription for the US service versus the Canadian one (something in the range of $400 US vs ~$550 Cdn). Given current status of the Cdn dollar being close to at-par level with the US $, this is significant... provided one has access to a valid US address. Are there are any other considerations afoot here, other than content? [ie, reception?]

If reception is your question, you should have no problems in Canada. Check out

Programming-wise, Sirius Canada is way scaled down from the U.S. Programming. Just find somebody with a U.S. address and activate through them.
It is my understanding that Sirius has ended the Lifetime Subscription plan option.

I have a US account with a Canadian radio oddly enough i get all the channels from both sides of the border. i get all the American ones plus the Canadian ones that aren't available on a us radio so in the end i get the best of both worlds for one price. as for the address thing just use any old address they don't care as long as your credit card works :) you just need to phone to activate as their computer system knows if the address and credit card don't match.

my radio which i bought at futureshop in Canada activated fine with my us account. i get all the American stations plus the Canadian ones as well. i have the stratus 3 radio. just use any American address to activate but you have to do it over the phone as the computer system can tell if your address does not jive with your credit card. I've had a American account since before you could get Sirius here in Canada.
