When I returned my original Sportster to have the display lights repaired, they sent me a Sportster 4 Replay instead. By the time I finally got Sirius to send me the correct cradles for my house and car, 30 days had elapsed. When I finally got it all reinstalled using the original antennas, which worked fine before, I found the Sportster 4 sufferes from "Acquiring Signal" very frequently. Basically my satellite radio is unlistenable. When I compained to Siruis, they told my 30 day warranty was up on the replacement unit so now I am stuck with a radio that does not work.
I have tried several antennas on both the house and truck and can not get good performance out of the Sportster 4 Replay in either cradle. The problem happens on clear days with no obstructions using various antennas mounted in locations that always worked with the Sportster unit.
Is the Sportster 4 less sensitive than the Sportster? Anyone notice a pattern here? Does anyone know how I can get my receiver tested for proper performance? Sirius customer service is about the worst I have ever dealt with so I have no intentions of dealing with them anymore.
