I've recently noticed an issue with the 625 Reciever while it's in standby mode. It must be in standby mode for both TV1 and TV2. (dish network screen saver on both) Then every 12 minutes, the receiver "reboots", the screen saver goes away for about 60 minutes. Then it's rinse and repeat every 12 minutes.

I first became aware of this because every day while on the phone, I could hear something on the phone line I was on, pickup and hang up. We suspected the phone company and they checked the wiring and Central Office several times for issues. They suggested a bad phone, PC, etc. could be causing it. So I began disconnectng devices until I found it...it was the 625DVR.

I called Dish and they sent out a new receiver. After installing it, I had the same issue. I just happened to leave the TV on and the 625 in standby and when I was on the phone, I heard something pick up the line and noticed the screen saver had gone. This repeats like clockwork about every 11 to 12 minutes. During this reboot, it must pickup the line to test.

I called Dish again and reported the problem. The CS rep said of it's normal for that reciever o check the line every 15 seconds not to worry about it. I knew this wasn't right and argued about various things that might have caused it. Her last suggestion was there was a signal problem with the splitter or one of the coax cables. I explained calmly that I'm not having a picture quality issue and when the box is on, it doesn't do this. After arguing some more, I asked if the switch could affect this and she agreed that she would send someone out on a trouble ticket to look at this issue.

The contractor came out and replaced the switch in the LNB and about 12 minutes after resetting everything, it rebooted. He had never seen this before and had no idea what could be causing this issue. 2 of the 625's were now doing the exact same thing - rebooting. the version in my current 625 is L417....any thoughts on what might be going on? Firmware bug??

I forgot to add that the next day when we try to watch something, we always get the "aquiring signal" routine as well.

Thanks!
