I luv the NW but i got lots of trees and rain recption probs. I had a dish 500 w/ legacy dual. This provides a very poor user experience. So I was going to get a bigger (30 inch plus) dish line up the single on 119 take the skew off the 500 and use it for 110. good or bad i don't know cuz before i cud do any. Sis gave me a 500 dish w/ the dual pro. Its sunny at the moment but the rain cant be far away so any advice or help on how best ot set up two (2) dish 500s will probably stop me growing webbed feet. I only need pick up on 119 and 110 no HD or anything else cuz i live on a mountain and dont got the money for fancy feast.

questions
1. they both have internal switches but do you need an external one to setup
2. whats best - use 1 dish per sat. or use both with the correct skew so the both pick up the 2 sats individually

You are right on the 2nd.
You just need one dish with a DPP Twin or DP twin depending on the receiver.
With the dual, put it on the 119 side and peek out the 119.
Put the dp twin or dpp twin on and presto you will have 110 and 119.
Depending on your location, try using the skew of 93-94 and ell at 42-45
