Hi Guys Just Wanted To Know If Anyone With The New 5lnb Dish Is Getting The New Hd Channels Yet? I Still Have A 3lnb Dish With The Hd Receiver So I Get Only The Basic Hd Channels While I Wait For A 5lnb Dish Can I Point A Seperate Dish And To What Bird Should I Point It To?95 Or 72

Directv 10 is still at it's temp location at 102.57. Untill it moves to it's broadcast location of 102.77 dtv will not start broadcasting any new HD

it is going to be the 103 or 99 or both .. i dont think it would work doing that

Directv 10 will be located at the 103 slot. To receive any of the new HD that is to be delivered from it you will need a 5LNB dish and a new receiver(h20,H21 non DVR) or (HR20 DVR).

You can't point an other dish at the 103 position and receive any new HD because Directv 10 will use a different frequency. Thats why you need a 5 LNB Dish.

ah ! i dont think the dishes are freqencie selective . otherwise u couldn't replace a bad lnb with one off the shelf , as i have seen done on many occasions . as far as i know , all lnbs feed the same difference frequencie down to the receiver when different channels on different transponders are selected . the receiver looks at this common difference frequency and extracts the information to be delivered to the tv . at least i'm pretty sure thats how the system basiclly works .

The 101 and the 119 lnb's are the same however the 110 lnb is different and not interchangable with the 101 or 119.

From what I understand the new 99 and 103 sats are going to use a different Frequencie band all togather. Thats why you will no longer be able to diplex your over the air or cable Tv signals into the DSS coax because it will conflict with the new band that dtv will be using.

does all this mean that the 5 lnb's will totally replace the 3 lnb's , and the 3lnb will no longer figure into the hdtv scheme of things ?

From what I understand all the new MPEG4 HD will be carried on the 103(D10)and 99(D11).
