Does anybody have any idea why on my local HD channels I sometime lose audio for a split second numerious times or sometimes sounds like they're under water? When I switch to another local channel, the audio is fine. When I switch back to the original channel, it still doing the same thing. Sometimes I'll lose the audio for minutes at a time. This is not limited to just one of the local channels, it can happen at any time, on any channel, and only that channel, not the others.
Ever since I went to HD, I had many issues that I worked out myself but this one is driving me nuts.
All of my signal strenghts are in the 90's with a couple in the very high 80's. There are some transponders that show 0 (just a couple) among all of the different satellites and I just figure that they aren't up yet.
Am I correct that the Local HD channels use the 103 satellite? I tried to memorize what satellite received what but with not dealing with it day after day I may of got them mixed up. Could someone also list what satellite receives what channels.
Hope there help out there for me. Thanks in advance for any replies, help, and advice.

Well Ron kind of
If all your SD channels are fine and have no audio dropouts with them then the only thing I could think of is that you have a problem with your receiver. If you have reset it and have had no improvement then it may need to be replaced.
If the dropouts happen with your SD channels also then I would check all your audio cables.
How is your receiver hooked up?
Red and White RCA cables.
COAX digital audio
Optical
HDMI

I too have the same issues with my HD audio. I have two accounts. One in Houston and one in Dallas and I have had the same audio loss problems on both and only on HD channels. Directv just says to reset the receiver to correct the problem but I do not find that this always does the trick. One account is going through a theater system using optical cable and the other is just using the tv internal speakers. I am presently at a loss as to what is causinig the in and out audio loss. I will post any helpfull information if I find any.

It is using a HDMI cable. I was beginning to think that it might be the receiver but now that I see that someone else is experiencing the same thing, I don't know what to think.
And like redsupersky says, when you call DirecTV, they only know how to look through their manual for answers. Never really get to talk to a real troublshooter to figure it out. Their only answer is to send out a technician to check it out. Problem is, this problem is not predictable and by Murphy's law, would not show itself while the tech. was there, plus the somewhat pricey cost of the service call.
It just seems really strange to me that this only occurs on my local HD channels and nowhere else.
I was told by the installer that the HD channels were really sensitive and a mere twig on a tree could knock the signal out. If you are receiving a good video signal, could this sensitivity only affect the audio signal ???
In any event, this seems like a problem that I'm going to have to figure out myself or with someone on here because DirecTV doesn't have any answers

If you can try to change to the red green and blue video cables and optical or digital coax for audio. I have heard of quite a few people having various problems with HDMI.
