Directv, the United States leading direct to home satellite provider has added 21 new high definition television channels, upping their nationwide HDTV channel service to 31 channels. The new networks include;
CNN HD
TBS HD
Big Ten Sports HD
NFL Network HD
Smithsonian HD
A&E HD
History Channel HD
Animal Planet HD
Discovery Channel HD
The Science Channel HD
TLC HD
The Movie Channel HD
Showtime 2 HD
Showtime West HD
Starz Comedy HD
Starz Edge HD
Stars HD East
Starz HD West
Starz Kids & Family West
The Golf Channel HD
Versus HD
The Weather Channel HD.

Directv also has announced that 18 more high definition channels are coming in October, which include; Bravo HD, Cartoon Network, Cinemax HD East, Cinemax HD West, CNBC HD, Food Network HD, Fox Business, Fuel HD, FX HD, HBO West HD, HGTV HD, MGM HD, M HD, NBA HD, National Geographic HD, Sci-Fi HD, Speed HD, USA HD.

Additionally, Directv has plans to offer a further 9 channels by the end of the year, which is scheduled to include; Biography HD, CMT HD, MTV HD, Nickelodeon HD, Spike HD, VH1 HD, CSTV HD, Tennis Channel HD and the 101 HD.
