Today is the public release of a new software called SafeMessage. SafeMessage allows the user to transmit an email that once opened will vanish off the receiver's hard-drive without a trace after a period of time set by the sender.
To quote the CEO of AbsoluteFuture, the software's creator, "Safe Message is a guaranteed shredding machine, Footprints (on PC Hard drives and computer servers) are obliterated without a trace."
This has law enforcement and the FBI up in arms since the average computer users does not realize that simply deleting a file, email, etc from your hard drive, does not eliminate the file from being recovered at a later date.
Most people I know do not do a government wipe when deleting, thinking simply deleting a file will make it go bye-bye forever.
Anything that raises the wrath of the FBI and law enforcement regarding privacy gets a big thumbs up in my book.

The relocation is great. Hopefully, being closer to the top will generate more activity in the thread.
However, in my opinon, the biggest problem is most members of the Den are here to learn how to program a card, ask questions about programming, beg for help, etc... They do not seem to care about issues involving our freedoms and civil liberties. It is kind of sad in a way.
So many people are willing to sit back and allow government to infringe on our rights and never say a word as long as it does not directly affect them. One day, they will wake up and it will happen to them and all of sudden they will be on here screaming bloody murder.
Keep up the nice work.

Gentlemen:
As a "Damn Yank", I always went to the bottom and read what you have been discussing in this Forum! I applaud your efforts; and dread the day when our "Big Brother" starts trampling our Civil Rights like the Crowne and RCMP have done to GS2; TTRK, and others. My first introduction to this hobby, three years ago, was at the hands of the aforementioned Gentlemen. We have this organization down here, the ACLU; that gets a lot of press for protecting trees, snails, butterflies, etc.; but they would go absolutely crazy if what happened to you guys happened here. I'm sure the US Government is activity pursuing the many "Pirates" here; but it is difficult for it to be as blatant as have the Crowne and RCPM im your cases. Hell, there are all kinds of really CRAZY people on this planet who need to be apprehended; quite frankly, intercepting a satellite signal used for entertainment purposes only should be lower tham whale ---- on the list. Now, for the knuckleheads who occassionally post here about hacking the "smart" type credit cards; they may cause undue scrutiny from various agencies; and I wish Rise would instruct the Moderators to immediately delete their posts!!
Keep up the good work, fellows; you have many more admirers down here than you might think. Not for the scripts, help, and the site itself, but for the battle you have waged and apparently won! I salute you!

Hi Tinman,
From an observer I see some questionable behaviour in the US starting..
Its true that modifying a card is illegal in the US but it now seems to a Priority with Authorities..
With DTV now have the FBI and US Customs and local Authorities in their pocket they have them running around after small hobbyists/dealers as if they were Herion dealers..
Is this what US citizens want on their tax dollars to be spent on?
What about fighting "real" crime.. organized crime..
One gets the impression that US Corporate has bought their way into getting their way at the expense of fighting serious crimes issues in the US.

unfortunately you observations are correct regarding corporate influence on lawmakers here in US. While this is a big problem, and getting bigger, corporates have very much money and don't mind using it under the table. Watchdog groups do their best, but can't handle all. When individual rights are stepped on no one yells unless it is their toes being mashed. Perhaps your struggle there will give more people here courage to act. Thank you and keep it up
