Hi I have a very odd problem.
I live in a country where ripping off people is the way of life so they sold me a 7 year old receiver for$750.
Now the problem is every few times I lose some transponders thge first6 time it happened was in february I opened my receiver up and cleaned the circuitboard thouroghly.
It worked fine.
Till yesterday it happened again.
I opened up the receiver didn't have as much dirt as last time but I cleaned it uop anyway.
I put it back to work and yes the transponders where back again but this time teh picture waqs in very low quality.
Even the channels that I used to get in High quality I get with a lot ofdigital artifacts just li8ke the channels with low bandwith.
What may be the problem with this thing?
I even opened up the demodulator and cleaned it on the inside.
This receiver has large ventilation holes on top that allows dirt in it that's why I have this problem cfonstantly.
Do u know if it's ok to cover up these holes.
I tried covering them with some kind of screen like the ones u put on a window to keep mosquitos out but that din't help.
It;s an ols dxd416re from thomson electronics from the year 2000
