Hi again,

I need so info about time zones. I am going to share the service from my brother in California but I am in EST what happens I don't want to have to watch the shows at starting at 11:00pm is there a way to get the EST channels? Can I just enter a zip code close to me in the unit or will that conflict with the smart card?

Thanks again for your help.

ok, on most directv models you can change the time for the guide but as far as different programming than what is on the address on the account, you cant have different. There are some instances where Directv will make arrangements with someone hwho has a vacation home in another part of the country. I do no think they will in your case though. they will want 2 seperate accounts to be able to get different programming on different receivers. Sorry I couldn't help more

Hi,

So if I understand correctly even if you pay to get both east and west channels they will not allow you to have that on the same account? Basically what I was hoping is that they would allow for a fee to access both the east and west channels.

Thanks for you help,
