Am I the only one who is driven to distraction by what Clear Channel has done? The above mentioned talk channels have many good programs but Clear Channel has seen fit to insert the most obnoxious, insipid and annoying commercials every few minutes. It is totally mystifying to me in that the majority of these commercials are PSAs (Public Service Announcements), which, as I understand it, are aired for free. These bloody commercials include how to determine if your child has autism, teenage drinking, the dangers of posting personal information and pictures on the Internet and how to patent your invention. There are more "subjects" as well as others. These PSAs are repeated endlessly. The intellectual level of these PSAs are juvenile at best. Is Clear Channel attempting to "kiss-up" to the FCC? It would appear to be the only reason for what they are doing.
Clear Channel has some other paid-for commercials that are just as obnoxious - but are far less frequent. I've contacted the management at XM and while they did acknowledge my emails they did not promise to do anything about this garbage. I encourage others to voice their objections to XM Management. As a very early adopter of XM Radio and the owner of three XM receivers I am considering canceling my subscriptions and just doing without. I'm sure this will result in lower blood pressure for me. It seems Clear Channel manages to screw up everything they touch.
