I should have stated in the post below that I am using the new DTV eliptical 3LNB dish with built-in multi-switch.

I am only interested in receiving DTV satellites 101 and 72.5 .

I am trying to find a mutual tilt angle for the two.

Thank You Again,

from the 101 to the 119 which the elip dish receives is about 19 degrees...

from the 72 to the 101 is 29 degrees ... i dont think you will be able to pick up those 2 sats... you will probably have to use 2 dishes or maybe a different type ...you might be able to use that dish with different lnb holder & other lnb's

Hello ebms1 :

THANK YOU for your reply. I have suspected that I would need another dish, but i'm too inexperienced to have confidence.

I am a pilot, and an old one!! I am not used to the "lingo" used in the satellite TV world.

I still need to know how to set "tilt" for 101 from my location 34.5 , 94.36.

When computing it on a website, i get a skew or tilt number of 9.6 and I have no idea how to accomplish that.

Am I to roll the reflector and LNB's around on their verticle axis??

Am I to face the front of the reflector and roll it to the right (ckockwise)?? or to the left(counter-clock)??

OR

Am I to face the back of the reflector and roll it to the right?? or to the left??

How many degrees shoult it be rolled for my location???? Does 9.6 mean 9.6 degrees??

Thanks a million for any help y'all can send my way.

Hi Again embs1. Thank You again for your reply.

Sorry, I have not made myself clear.

I am at 34.5 LAT and 94.36 LON.

My elevation is 49.3 for 101.

It is the TILT value I am confused about.

You said your tilt value is 60........ How did you accomplish the "60" ???

Thank you again,
I do appreciate your patience.

on the back of your dish by the nuts that you loosen to move the tilt you will see the #'s... there is a pointer that you line up to the correct #..

look in the dtv recvr in the menu under installation ... put in your zip ...
