Still having problems.
Newbie, but learning a lot
I have read all the threads on this site, very helpful.
All new equipment, new coax.
DTV R10 DVR (RCA) factory sealed box. (new sealed DTV card).
DTV DSA20-MA Triple LNB w/Multiswitch factory sealed in box.
RG6 coax (new) times two connected to in 1 and 2 on DVR.
I must be overlooking something simple;
my primary satellite is 101
mast is perfectly verticle
Power up, walks thru guided setup, zip code,
Az 202, Elev 46, Tilt 69, all are set.
I have a small TV set at the dish to monitor signal strength and hear tones.
Satellite Signal test yields "no signal", carefully rotating dish (Az) yields "no signal" , carefully adjusting Elev. is no help either.
Several attempts, powering down starting over yields same result.
Card in slot or not makes no difference.
I Have NOT gone to phone setup as I have no signals.
Question:
Does it matter which of the 4 LNB connectors the coax cables are connected to??
Question:
Must "phone setup" be accomplished to receive signals from satellites???
Thanks a million for your help

doesnt matter on outputs...or phone setup...
when using the recvr for signal .. your signal is delayed... reset dish settings... move the az too far to right ... then slowly come back to left... when you see a signal come up ..you will have to go back a little to the right to acheive best signal...... what about you line of site????????
if you are pointing to the 202 you will have to be able to see from the 199 or so to the 225 or so ...to pick up all three sats...
also ... try resetting your recvr

Thank You Sir:
I will try again on acquiring signal.
I have changed the rcvr setting to one coax cable and tried the coax one at a time in case one was shorted. no joy
Line of site is great, absolutely clear due East to Due West.
Nothing at all shows on the rcvr. signals, I kinda THINK i might hear a slight change in the audio tone, but very little if any.
I am thinking of purchasing another tripple LNB just to eliminate the possiblilty of a bad LNB or Multiswitch.
If that fails, i suppose the new receiver is bad.
I will try your suggestions first.
Again, THANK YOU for your assistance

when you hear that slight difference in the tone go back & stay there for a minute... try flexing ... not moving ... the dish up or down & see if you acheive a better signal ...
did you get the settings from the recvr entering the zip or elsewhere
you might try getting a cheapo meter off ebay ... or where you get the lnb ...
under $25... they have a tone on them too & you might be able to find the arc ..or line that all the sats are in ...

Thank you sir:
I did get the coordinates from the receiver using zip.
I have tried flexing the elevation slightly up and down, no joy.
I do have one of the cheapie meters, but havent tried it since i ass-umed (intended) the readout on the TV near the dish was probably superior.
I will try the cheapie meter too.
THANK YOU AGAIN!!!!!!!!
