i don't know the legality of my post so excuse me if i am posting against board policy. I live in the U.S. and had a friend who worked for cable. he mentioned he had directv and when I asked him why, he mentioned he had his mom living in Jamaica and they were not allowed to pay for and receive the U.S. signal there, so he signed up in the U.S. with two receivers and two cards all legitimately authorized. he then took one receiver to Jamaica and one LNB (i believe) but had to hook up the receiver and card to a bigger dish (like a big 4 foot dish - or whatever size those older dishes are) since the satellite for direct tv (satellites) are (this is like 6 years ago so this may have changed), the satellite was over texas so they needed a bigger dish to be able to get a better signal since Jamaica is a little bit south... but other than that his mom got all the channels he paid for. so if you have a relative in the u.s who is willing to pay for an additional receiver (and it's card) then you might be able to take that to Venezuela and use a big dish and point it at texas or 110 degrees if i remember correctly. let me know what you find out, my brother is in Barquisimeto and he took his hidef tv down there but there is no hidef signal either OTA (yet) or through cable (AFAIK) as far as i know.. Intercable is what they have.
hope that points you in the right direction.
