H10 Hd Receiver with off air tunner

I upgraded to H20 directv receiver so I could get all new hd channells now have old H10 receiver that I paid $350. for in closet.Tried using off air tunner with my 70ft atenna which I get about 30 HD channells but tunner is gray out is there any reason why tunner is turned off.

Ever think because you had the box turned off by DTV?

Yes but I also have a hughes hd receiver that has been turned off and it also has an off air tunner but this one works with directv turned off so why does the hughes work and the h10 doesn't confusing.
