i had a problem 2 weeks ago after a storm. the power flashed off and on a few times and was out for about an hour. after the power came back on i had no signal. i climbed up to the dish and hooked up my signal strength meter and the signal was fine. after unplugging the reciever and pulling out the card and letting it sit for a couple of hours to reset itself(i wanted to make sure) i turned it all back on and everythig was fine. this morning i got up to find no signal again. i did the same as before to reset the receiver with no results. i hooked up my signal meter and had no signal. i made sure all the connections were good and got some signal but nothing to the receiver. i am about to pull my hair out, could it be the storm fried the receiver or a bad lnb?
any help or advice would be greatly appreciated

is your meter powered ...or does it require that the recvr be hooked up ...

can you check to see if the recvr is putting out power 13 or 18 volts

i worked on my problem today and i have the most perfect signal on sat 119. i have the dp34 switch box. when i connect any of the other lnb coax to the switch box all signal goes away, i have run the check switch several times and it doesnt make any difference, at least i can watch everything that comes in on 119

how many lnb do you have & did you try moving locations on the inputs ... is the sw grounded ... try removing all grounds..

Also if you use a 34 switch, make sure NOT to use a separator.
And make the stingers a little longer to get into the Switch.
