Forum experts:

Went to replace a working DTV H20 at client's. They wanted to upgrade to PVR . Removed H20 - installed HR21 to existing sat feed (only one at this TV location). New HR21 sat receiver indicated that it was downloading new software and that i should leave it alone.

Software download completed itself allowing me to begin guided setup. Entered all the values - triple LNB dish etc. got to signal screen on 101.

Zeroes! Several transponders (I did not note the transponder numbers) did register signal in the 80's and 90's but only about 5 or 6 transponders in total. Found that 110 and 119 had same problems.

Reinstalled the "working" H20 and there were no problems at all. Swapped BBC filter - same problem.

Rebooted - resetted, powered off several times, tried several satellite configs - went to basic round for 101 only, same problem.

Is it just a bad receiver out of the box?
Did the software download mess things up?
Should we just all switch to Cable?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

No help?

Oh well.

Not a lover of CATV either, but I certainly don't have as much problem with cable as I do with satellite jobs.

If I had a dime for every minute wasted on the phone with DTV, I wouldn't need a job.
