Hi folks, first time on the board. I am only receiving channels on sat 119, not 110. I have a 500 dish, an echostar 5000 box. It appears that the satellite is aimed correctly (skew, angle, azimuth, etc.) It's mounted on a sturdy pole that is very level, I have zero obstructions-no trees in the way, using one solid piece of rg6 cable. According to setup page, I have about 85% signal strength on 119 satellite, and same on 110 satellite. However, the signal bar is green for the 119 satellite and is showing up red for the 110 satellite. I did run the switch test and it only shows connection to 119 satellite. To be honest I purchased the dish for 10 at a rummage. After still having this problem, I did purchase a used lnb from ebay. I did try the box at a friends house and it works fine and gets all channels. I know you should only connect one cable to the lnb and the sw21 switch is not required for this lnb. My question is, should I buy another lnb from ebay? new or used? do these things fail all the time? sorry for the long post, thanks for reading.

sometimes you have to try other transponders for the different sats...

first thing you want to do is be sure that you are recvg 110 on the 110 lnb & same for the 119 ... cover with hand or cardboard & verify on recvr

thanks for the advice....so if the 110 receiver is receiving the 110 signal and the 119 receiver is receiving the 119 signal, is it safe to assume the lnb assembly is okay? If they are reversed is the lnb assembly bad? can the lnb assembly be taken apart to see if there is a problem?

thanks again...

no ... this will let you know that you are pointed correctly and not picking up a sat with the wrong lnb...if the tilt, az or el is incorrect ... then you might pick up the 110 with the 119 ... or vise - versa... making it impossible to get both sats at the same time ...
