can't find 119, no switch box detected

I have a dish pro 500 twin LNBF, hooked to 119 cable, can only get some of the 110 channels. Did a test switch (several times) get 110 odd/ even on
1-1 0n 2-2 get all x's screen says device: unknown status: no switch detected. tried re-aiming sat with no luck, when set to 119 has strong signal but in the red, say's wrong sat 110 hope someone can help me out here, thanks

Could be a number of things. A line of sight issue (tree in the way of 119); a bad LNB; or mis-aligned dish. Try re-aligning the dish but using a piece of aluminum foil an cover up the side of the LNB that says 110 and using the signal meter in the dish receiver, see if you can find 119. Make sure to adjust the elevation slightly if you can't find it at the setting your currently at.

You are hitting the wrong satellite. Move your dish 9 degrees to the south. Make sure your cable is on port 1.
