If each receiver that is on line with Dish Network is charged normally $5 per receiver even if you lease or own the receivers, then why charge a DVR fee when the same signal that is received and already paid for is charged an extra $5.98 PER receiver equipped with a built in recorder just to record the same signal that is processed by the receiver and supplied to the recorder unit.
I maybe can understand a LEASED receiver stretching the built in convenience of having a recorder within the receiver but WHY IF YOU OWN THE DVR UNITS IS DISH NETWORK CHARGING A FEE WHEN NO ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL SERVICE REALLY IS BEING PERFORMED BY THE RECORDER USING THE SAME SIGNAL PER RECEIVER THAT WAS DETECTED AND PROCESSED.
If a VCR or External Hard drive was hooked up outboard this same signal would record free of any Recorder fee's charged by Dish Network.
I feel it is double billing if you OWN your own DVR units without any extra service being performed and boarders on playing on the technical ignorance of subscribers to gain a financial gain by Dish Network.
I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM DISH NETWORK MANAGEMENT on why their customers are being duped and charged the record fees-maybe there is something I do not understand technically and can be enlighten on the subject.
