I was just wondering if I could use the same hookups from my dish network with direct tv. I was going to replace the satelite with a direct tv one and connect direct tv receivers to the lines in. I have the dual receivers for dish network and dual receivers for direct tv. I want to get rid of Dish network.
Thanks

It used to be that you could do that and just re-aim the dish, but not any more. They use multiple satellites / lnbs such that you'd have a difficult (read impossible) time getting things aimed correctly. Best to just get the proper DirecTV setup and be done, and with a lot less hassle.

the dual rec for dn is for 2 rooms ... the dual for dtv is for 2 recordings at once ...one room ...

as for as being able to just swap out is dependent on your wiring...

with the new dish for dtv , you only need one wire going to each dvr... if your second rooms terminate with the other rooms , a swap out should be easy

also ... consider the cost ... being a new dtv customer ...i think you can get 1 dvr reimbersment for $200.00... might get $100.00 for hd recs too ... you need to check into it
