Having tough time authorizing Directv DVR , even when all 5 satellites have good signal.
The Directv techs ,who tend to be VERY RUDE on the phone, know they are having this problem, it seems like an attenuation problem adding 100 ft. of cable helps sometimes, another installer activates 1 tuner with a installation waiver.
Any other suggestions ???

i think that dtv wants to be sure that you have enough signal to prevent unneccesay rain fade problems.... they want 101 transp 8 & 9, 110 10 , 119 27 & 32, 99c 3 & 14 , and 103c 2 & 11 to be at a certain level that assures less rain fade & signall loss... if these are NOT at a specific level ... the recvr will error out ...i had a bad lnb once ... they thought that pointing was ok because of certain signal levels on the 101 & 119 ... ..tried repointing 2 times just in case with same results... but only passed tesed after replacing lnb... i new the signals were a little low ... usually get in mid to high 90's ...thought they were good enough ... but recvr wouldnt take it ... less rain fade does help dtv image ...
