First I have been having alot of problems with the new IE 5.5 I've had it since it was released and all was well. But now it looks like crap. When pages are displayed there is a line of something about an 8th of an inch wide running down both sides of the screen. Looks like parts of the desktop. Also the favorites and other menus have lines running down them as well. I ran dfrag the other day but it di n't help. Now my DVD Rom as blown up. Didn't know it until I tried to install some new printer software for my new printer. When I insert a cd into the drive the PC completly locks down and I get a blue screen that says a fatal exception blah blah has occured. It never did this before. Now I'm haveing to use my Sony CD re-writer to load all of my discs. It works fine but the main DVD drive goes whacko like that just as soon as a disc is placed in it and it tries to load it. I get the error screen and pressing crtl alt del doesn't work or anything then. Can someone help? PC is a compaq 5635 running Windows 98 with a Sony Spressa CD re-writer and DVD Rom drive.
